Anthony spent his early years in Toronto, but at a young age decided to run away and join the circus. He ultimately landed on a farm in the country; Puck's Farm where Anthony was able to combine his love of the circus and his passion for the outdoors with a petting zoo, trained animals, and circus entertainment on the weekends: Anthony spent the next twenty years as Puck's resident singing cowboy. He performed daily for school children and visitors; singing folk songs and wowing the crowds with his trick riding skills. In the evenings he sang at corporate events, local pubs and festivals. He also worked on hundreds of movies and commercials as an extra, animal wrangler and animal trainer. Some movies he worked on include "Prancer" and "Margo's got the Cargo" featuring Stompin' Tom Connors.
Puck's Farm, was also home to a beautiful 32 track analog recording studio. That gave Anthony the opportunity to meet, play and record music with many talented artists. Gradually he became known as "Anthony The Singing Cowboy." Anthony recorded his first album "Tragically Hick" with Phil Sheridan and producer Eric Nagler of Sharon, Lois and Bram fame. He was heavily influenced by legendary producer Frazier Mohawk, and 60's favourites Bob Dylan, John Prine, Lenny Breau and the Rolling Stones. Bob Yeomans of Jackson Hawke was another big influence. As his music career grew, he performed with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, Persuasion 80's Bar Band, and the Nashville Sailcats among many others.
These day, when Anthony is not farming, writing or playing music at places like the Shelburne Fair or at the International Plowing Match, he loves to create works of art with his chainsaw and a handful of power tools. His unique wood carvings, combine a magical connection to the outdoors with his boundless creativity. Anthony spends his time on the farm, creates soulful music and enjoys playing and connecting with nature. Let his music transport you to the rolling hills of the country with its catchy rhythms and down-home feel. Don't miss out on the opportunity to grab his upcoming LP or see him live!
